I agree with Gary. Unless you have about 16GB RAM Chrome will be a thorn in your computer's side. It is also a resource hog in Windows. A recent article on one of the trusted tech sites reported Win10 users running Chrome on laptops found it depleted battery power quickly. If you do not like Safari, look to FireFox. Neither has as large a "footprint" as Chrome.

Chrome and all its helpers is a RAM hog. If you can run Sierra, there should be no problem running Chrome.

Agreeing completely with Allen. I have a Late 2009 27" iMac with 16g of RAM. I run Firefox on it with no problems.
Firefox also continually upgrades the browser.
Thanks all. I have Safari, Firefox and Torch, and my RAM is 12Gb (which we were told was tons of oomph at time of purchase).
