New preview: pdf highlight and notes

Why is the new preview better than the old one? Sincerely it has been worse, at least for me.

• My notes are randomly disappearing, I am just left with blank notes.
• I can't quickly highlight with the right click any more. I have to move the cursor all the way up every single time to the tool bar.

I found this post here, Preview and PDF notes - wasted 2 weeks of notes. But as I can't even reply on it, I wonder if it is closed and there is a solution out there. So, I am asking this question again!

Also, I did manage to get the a copy of the Preview 9 working, but it crashes when I try to open the documents I have notes that I created with Preview 10, it crashes.
