VPN and Airport Extreme (802.11n)

I am considering buying this new Airport, but I will need to set up a VPN between it and my work location. Can this device cope with doing that? The old Airport Extreme could not.

Hi there,
I've read through these threads and have tried some of the suggestions, but with no success.

I have a Time capsule and want to be able to use Cisco VPN client version 4.8.0.0 to connect with an ibook. The ibook connects to the time capsule with no problem. When I connect to VPN, everything looks normal until I try to connect to the network, then nothing happens. When I log out from VPN, the ibook connects to the timecapsule with no problems.

How should I configure the timecapsule and/or ibook to allow VPN access using the ibook?

thanks-I'm far from an expert at these things, so simple explanation/instructions would be really helpful!

Hi there,
unfortunately I don't have a solution for you but I'm facing a very similar issue with the Time Capsule. The TC is at firmware 7.3.1. Reverting to 7.2.1 as suggested for the AEBS is no good idea for the TC as the support for TC was introduced with 7.3!
I am using AT&T Network Client to connect to my company's VPN. Formerly I used an AVM Fritz!Box as DSL Router and it worked like a charm. Im am using the TC as my DSL router for four weeks now and tried to connect to the company via VPN two days ago for the first time using TC in between. Well, the VPN Client (on Windows) turns into a loop situation and repeats negotiating, authenticating and getting VPN-server list all the time. I set my PC's IP as exposed host (DMZ) but that didn't change anything. The only way connecting to my comapny's network is simply connecting the PC directly to the DSL modem, not using TC at all!!
I tried filing a bug report with apple but due to not being as registered developer they did not accept my bugreport. I used the bugreporter website, is there maybe another website where I can file a bugreport for my registered TC?

So am I an idiot? Don't answer that. Sorry my parents didn't install a computer in the womb.

I'm trying to download the 7.3.2 update and the page it keeps referring me to is 5.3.2, which I'm already running.

First of all, does it matter that I'm using 802.11g instead of 802.11n? What is the difference?

I go to

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/timecapsuleandairp ortbasestation80211nfirmware732.html

and click download and it brings me to

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1218

When I try to manually update, it tells me I am running the latest version (5.3.2).

I'm running Vista (I know, I know, that's the first problem), an Airport Extreme with 802.11g and airport utility version 5.3.2.

Even if the g / n difference matters, why am I being directed this way from the links?
