Question: Any way to record audio directly into Pages?

Does anyone know of a shortcut to record audio directly into Pages? I'm trying to come up with alternatives to Circus Ponies Notebook, which was discontinued a year ago. While flawed to some degree, it did have the ability to record an audio clip directly into a page, which is helpful for recording quick musical ideas in my music practice journal.

I'm sure there is a way to record a clip with Quicktime or something similar and drag it into Pages, but if there were a direct audio path straight into the app, it would make it easier. The communities page here keeps coming up with errors when I do a search today, not sure if there is a technical glitch with Apple, so I'm placing a question.

Thanks to those who take the time to respond.

Answer:

No version of Pages supports a direct streaming audio recording feed. You can drag and drop an audio file into Pages, but you won't be able to export it to any other document format. That is the cost of the proprietary document format.

No, you will need to create the audio and then drag or place it into the document. I don't find this to be much of a problem as I have to add or create the audio one way or the other so it's best to use a decent app where I can edit it as needed and then place it in the document.
