Renault R-Link and iOS 11 NOT compatible

Hi there

I‘ve recently purchases a Renault Kadjar and unfortunately find out that my iphone is not compatible with the R-Link system in the vehicle, due to Apples new release of iOS 11.

My device connects but constantly drops and picks up the connection continously.

I have researched and read many threads and have not found a solution to this issue. Can Apple implement a patch to fix this or anyone else whom might have the knowledge on how to fix this

Yours Thankfully

Same for me; I did the update for IOS11.4 this morning, hoping for a solution with the Renault R Link, and it's still not working... This is very frustrating. As R Link connects to Android, I don't think that the fault lies with R Link but with Apple. I hope that this will get sorted soon.

I don't see how this is useful. Saying "ask Apple or Renault" is not helpful. It's like saying "go and get some help". Oh right! Never thought of that!

Apple has created a software issue / incompatibility and it's not for us to "ask Apple" but more to "Tell Apple" to fix it. We have hundreds of comments with people having the same issue. We are not all going to individually "ask Apple or the Manufacturer". Apple needs to fix this. Renault works fine with every other mobile phone, Android or else.

It's actually Renault that needs to fix it, not Apple. Yes Apple has updated their software and now the Renault system no longer connects to it but this just means that Renault needs to update their software to be compatible with 11.4 and later. Apple has no responsibility to go to every car manufacturer and make sure the new update works with their system. Apple has had a beta program in place for years and the car manufacturers have the ability to participate and update their systems as needed. If Renault says they aren't going to fix it then you're out of luck. iOS 11.3.1 is still being signed but you probably only have a day or two left to get it on your iPhone before you're stuck with 11.4.
