Header created in microsoft word hidden in pages

I have several documents that were created either in Microsoft Word or Open Office, saved in MS Word format. These docs have a header with a graphic. When I open them in Pages the header graphic is missing. I can deal with the font changes, but really need my header to stay intact. How do I get the header graphic to show? Or do I need to rebuild the document?
