Duplicate project in Photos

This question was asked in December...

"i am trying to copy an existing photo book i have made in photos to modify a copy of it for a friend. when i 'duplicate project', it creates a copy of it, with the same number of pages and it looks to be the same layout on each page, however the project is empty of all photos. there are no photos on the pages but also none in the filmstrip along the bottom which is most annoying as i don't want to go through and add all the photos again manually.

i'm running os high sierra 10.13 if that provides any assistance in fixing my problem."

Has anyone found a solution to this? The problem still exists in 10.13.4

Does the same happen for a new project?

When I am duplicating a recently created project, the copy of the book is fine.

If you cannot duplicate the book correctly, use the work-around to duplicate your Photos library, for example to an external drive. In the copy of the library you can modify your book for your friend without damaging your original book project.
