How to reinstall macOS High Sierra to Macintosh HD

I tried to do a factory reset on Macbook Pro 13 inch 2017, but somehow I deleted the "Macintosh HD" drive since I didn't know how to make it Journaled which meant I couldn't reinstall macOS. Today I decided to continue to troubleshoot and found a new drive in disk utility called "Container disk1". I have been trying to erase it and reformat it to journaled from APFS. It won't let me erase it though because it says it can't be unmounted as it is in use by process 0 (kernel). Another thing I noticed is that Container disk1 doesnt seem to be mounted because on the top, the button "Mount" says mount instead of unmount. When I click it, nothing happens. When I try to install High Sierra it gives me an error saying the recovery server could not be contacted. Please help, I do not know what to do.

That looks like you rebooted into Recovery Mode instead of Internet Recovery. Don't restart using Command+R.

Restart using Command+Option+R. THEN use Disk Utility to erase the drive. You HAVE to do this from an external boot source NOT from your Recovery HD.

No I have mentioned to you several time to restart using Internet Recovery - Command+Option+R keys. This is external because you're booting into Apple's servers to do recovery.

Your screenshots from your 1st post do not confirm you restarted using Command+Option+R. From what I can tell, it looks like you booted using Command+R keys instead which is why you're seeing the errors of not being able to delete the container because you're using the Recovery volume inside the container.

Without screenshots, it's difficult for me to know what's going on.

If you still have the Container disk1 then you can open Terminal from Internet Recovery.

Type: diskutil apfs list

Find the Identifier for Container disk1

Then type: diskutil apfs deleteContainer <Identifier> (e.g. diskutil apfs deleteContainer disk2s3)

Now see if you can erase/format your drive.

Your Mac shipped with High Sierra installed, correct?

You should be fine doing what I mentioned because it doesn't matter the volumes you deleted. And it doesn't matter that you have an APFS Container remaining. Selecting the actual drive and nothing else should allow you to Erase it, format it and add a new volume underneath so you can install High Sierra to that new volume (e.g. Macintosh HD).

I don't know about the error you're seeing about the Recovery Server. You may want to do searches in this forum for possible solutions or Google the Internet for that error to find a solution.

The screenshot you provided indicates you did not format your internal drive correctly with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and GUID partition scheme. So, because of this High Sierra can't be installed.

This is how you want to format your internal drive when you select it and click Erase. The dropdown shown below happens and you want to choose the Format: like it shows below and the Scheme: like it shows below. You can make the Name: anything you want.

Okay sorry sir, I figured out how to do the Command Option R. Problem was I was shutting down and the powering on the macbook instead od restarting. Good news is I wiped the APPLE SSD SM0256L Media successfully and have a journaled Macintosh HD underneath it in the sidebar. Now when I install macOS High Sierra it gives me the same problem, "The recovery server could not be contacted."

Boot back into Internet Recovery (either Command+Option+R or Shift+Command+Option+R) to reinstall the OS your Mac shipped with.

Next, open Disk Utility and if it's High Sierra's ** change the View to Show All Devices. Select the device media (not any indented volumes) and click Erase so you can reformat the whole disk however you want. And then you should be able to reinstall the OS.
