iPhone keyboard unresponsive and inaccurate when typing.

The keyboard is really inaccurate and unresponsive when I type quickly. This is only on the keyboard however, everything else is responsive (i.e. zooming in and out of pictures).

I am running on iOS 11.3.1 on an iPhone 6s. Where could the issue be?

Hi, Zuga01,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. If I'm understanding, your keyboard isn't as accurate or as quick to respond when you are typing quickly. I know how important it is to be accurate and efficient when typing, and am happy to help!

First, force close any open apps. This will make sure nothing is accessing the keyboard: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support . Then, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support .

After the iPhone comes back on, try opening one app and testing the keyboard. If the issue is still present and you have a third party keyboard, remove it and test to see if the issue continues on the default iOS keyboard. You can use these steps from About the keyboards settings on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support to remove third party keyboards:

Delete a third-party keyboard

Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards.

Tap Edit.

Tap , then tap Done.

You can also delete a keyboard by deleting the companion app that you installed from the App Store. This also removes the keyboard from Settings.

If you do not use third party keyboards, or the issue continues after they are deleted, please backup your iPhone ( How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support ) and then use the steps under the "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again" section of If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support . Even though the title of the article doesn't address your issue directly, the reinstallation steps are what we're after here.
