I have connected my wireless printer to my home wifi and my iPad is connected to the same wifi. I am trying to print an email but it does not work. Can anyone tell me the process. At one point AirPrint printers was mentioned when i was trying to select a printer but none were found, this could be something different altogether.
To print from an iOS device the printer must be compatible with AirPrint. Just because a printer can connect via Wi-Fi does not mean it is compatible with Airptint. Here's a link with the basics of AirPrint along with a list of all compatible printers.

Even if your printer is capable of using AirPrint, it may also need to have the AirPrint function enabled.
Thanks for the reply my printer did not have the AirPrint facility so I had to return iit only way to print without issue so I have been told by the shop assistant. We will see tomorrow when I spend another half day setting up the new printer!
