MacBook Pro to VGA projector

Hello,

MacBook Pro 2014

Projector EPSON EB - X02

I would like to connect my MacBook pro to a VGA projector. I understand that I have to get the Mini DisplayPort adapter to connect the VGA cable. Will then the sound play on MacBook? Can I connect the sound to a wifi speaker?

Thanks

VGA has no conductors reserved for sound.

The sound output on most Macs is intended for headphones, and would need an amplifier to be loud enough to be heard. Or you could get a USB sound output device. Bluetooth does not become an output option unless a compatible device is already present, so that may be a gamble.

You would to need to direct the sound to the headphones or USB sound output using

System preferences > Sound > Output
