iPhone 7+ passcode won't turn off

My iPhone passcode will not deactivate. The option in the settings is grayed out. I had to set this passcode lock on my phone in order to link a Microsoft exchange account to my mail app on my phone. I deleted the exchange account from my settings... Still can't turn the passcode off. I deleted all accounts from the settings for the mail app, still can't turn passcode off. I turned my phone off and on, still can't turn passcode off. I am mad. This is not ok. The organization requiring this passcode to lock my phone even after I removed access to their email from my device is not right. They have no right to lock my phone in this way after I removed the account from my device. Apple has no right allowing such problem to exist on my personal device. The purpose to link an email account to the mail app is so I don't have to deal with entry of user names and passwords... When I was asked to set the passcode to link the exchange account, I was not presented with a warning this problem would happen. Thanks a lot to whoever is responsible for me not being able to deactivate passcode, Apple, FVTC, microsoft, etc... Thank you so much for wasting my time.

Your Exchange administrator installed a security profile on your phone, along with the Exchange account. Go to Settings/General, scroll to the bottom, then look for an entry that will be called either "Profiles" or "Device Management". It will be located between VPN and Regulatory. Open this entry, and delete the profile. Then restart your phone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
