How can I reset the @icloud.com mail account password? This mail account is not the same as my Apple ID. Most of the answers for this topic assume the iCloud mail account and the Apple ID use the same account name.

You need to enable 2 Factor Authentication on your Apple ID and create an app specific password to use. If your account won’t allow 2 Factor Authentication, try 2 step verification.

I already had two-factor authentication set before I asked my question about iCloud mail. I didn’t understand that Windows wanted an iCloud password different from my AppleID password Because I didn’t know about setting an app-specific password to use with Outlook.
