Spotify music player frozen on lockscreen

I have noticed this problem since updating to iOS 11 GM and have since updated to iOS 11.3 but still, the issue persists. I have noticed some people saying that their Spotify, Apple Music etc. widget has frozen on their lock screen; when they stop playing music, the widget still remains behind. I have a different issue. When I am playing music, the scrubber that should be advancing as the song progresses is just stuck on the screen. I have noticed that if I pause and then start the music, the scrubber will jump to wherever it is in the song but it still won't progress any farther. If I also open up my phone and then lock it again, It will jump to its correct location but then still freeze where it is. This is rather annoying because I can't see where I am in the song just at a glance.

iOS 11 has been one of the worst updates with regards to bugs recently and I'm surprised Apple hasn't addressed this even after over 6 months
