Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Hey, so I got a new iPhone 8.
Updates my MacBook Pro and installed the new iTunes 12.7.4
backed up my iPhone 7.
The issue is every time I try to update my iPhone 7 half way through iTunes will close itself and I get a big notice stating “iTunes quit unexpectedly“
Due to the iPhone 8 having older software I can’t restore my 8 from my 7s backup so basically have nothing right now.
how can I fix this Issue?
See If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. Try an over the air update if you cannot get iTunes to do it.

Hi Jkd91,
Sadly I'm having the same issue. My iPad updates without any issues so I'm assuming it's not cable or USB connector related. Also my iPhone does update via wifi. But I'd still like to have the iMac crash issue resolved, have you found a resolution?

I’m heading to Apple tomorrow to hopefully get answers..
my battery also seems to be extremely poor ..
needs to be charged twice per day..
my old 7 lasted much much longer..
very disappointed with my new iPhone 8 so far
Thanks for the reply. Yesterday I tried an update using an older iMac. Again I had no issue with the Backup, but part the way through the Update it crashes.
Did Apple offer any solution?
With regard to my iPhone 8, other than the glass back being far too easy to scratch I'm fairly happy with mine, but I move from an iPhone 6
Every time I update my iPhone 8*
iPhone 7 updated fine
Make sure you're running iTunes 12.7.4.80 not 12.7.4.76. Might pay to reinstall iTunes either way.
