Charter/Spectrum Apple Mail problems
Hello. This is more of an answer/solution to a problem that many Charter/Spectrum users may have.
According the the Charter/Spectrum website, it says to do the following:
Incoming Mail Server
- Account Type: IMAP
- Mail Server: mobile.charter.net
- Username: Full Spectrum email address (including @charter.net)
- Password: Spectrum email password (This field should automatically populate)
Outgoing Mail Server
- SMTP Server: mobile.charter.net
- Choose Use only this server.
- Select Use authentication.
- Username: Full Spectrum email (including @charter.net)
- Password: Spectrum email password
That just did not work, no matter how many times I tried. After working on this with Apple, and specifically Celestine at Apple Support, we figured out that the Mail Server that they were recommending of : mobile.charter.net was inaccurate.
It should be: IMAP.charter.net
you can use this for both incoming and outgoing.
At one point there will be a warning that says your password is insecure. Just ignore that.
You will be up and running in no time.
