Logic X Studio Strings - articulation doesn't change

Hi All,

I recently upgraded to Logic X 10.4.1 and wish to use Studio Strings.

However, after programming MIDI notes I changed the articulation (in the Strings plug-in) although I can't hear any audible change between articulations (and I also can't see 'cut off'/ 'resonance'/ 'volume' etc controls do not change).

In addition, when I change between 'section' and 'single instrument' I also can't hear any audible change in sound.

Can anyone explain how I can get articulations and section/ single instrument to work in Strings?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Mr Rock

Articulations are embedded into the recorded notes.

Open the Piano roll and select the note you want to alter. Now you can change the articulation for that specific note or notes directly in the Piano Roll Local Inspector.

Hi Cuauhtemoc,

Thank you for your response - it's appreciated and it has solved my query!

However, does this highlight a fault in Logic's 'Strings' software - what is the point in having articulation shown in the Strings GUI when the only way of changing articulations is from the Piano Roll Local Inspector?!

Hopefully Logic address this in their next update!

Kind Regards,

Mr Rock

Hi Cuauhemoc,

Thanks for the feedback.

I understand that 'last played articulation' appears in the GUI window, but what I don't understand is why an 'articulation' tab also appears in the GUI window when it doesn't allow me to change the articulation!? (which can only be changed in the editor?)

And I also noticed that none of the 'cutoff'/ 'resonance'/ 'attack' etc settings change when I change the articulation via the editor? (I would have thought these parameters would changed when you changed the articulation?)

Kind Regards,

Mr Rock
