Bounce: Does Audio Interface Matter?

Hi,

I noticed that different audio interface or sound card presented different sound quality when I switched over for Mix Check!

I'm wondering : Does Audio Interface or Sound Card affected the Bounced Track Quality?

Example : when I checked my mix on Presonus - Higher Frequencise are stronger. When I switch to Focusrite - lack of Low End. When I used iMac built-in sound card, it emphasized the Mid frequencies.

So, would my Bounced Track quality presented according to the Output Devices I selected?

Thanks!

Short answer is: no. – The interface will not affect the sound quality of the bounced file.

What you are hearing is probably the different DA on the different interfaces. They will affect the quality of your monitoring chain.

You should be able to confirm this by running a null test comparing two bounces.

Hope that helps.
