where can I find help with formulas in Numbers?

Can I copy a formula from an older version of Numbers? How? Or how do I get the formula to show up in Numbers, so I can copy it into another spreadsheet. I HAD a formula that worked, but I'm not a math whiz and can't figure out how to replicate it.
