iPhone 7 plus (32GB) with OS Version 11.3.1 (15E302), OS updated recenly.
Carrier updated to Grameenphone 32.1
Selected 4G from Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Option > Voice & Data > 4G
But 4G is neither displaying at top of screen nor activating though the SIM is 4G enabled and phone is under 4G coverage.
Have you powered the device off since this update? Power the phone off and back on again and see what happens when it connects to the network. If it still will not show 4G or LTE, then contact your carrier to see if 4G/LTE has been activated in your particular area. That is a carrier issue, and they need to deal with it. Once you have made the settings on the phone, there isn't anything that can be done from the phone end. Did you try just setting it to Data only and see what happens? Sometimes a carrier will support LTE for data, but not for voice, but again, only the carrier could answer your questions about that.

Then that cell tower either does not provide 4G service or it is a misconfiguration on the part of your cell carrier.
