How to remove search.searchpulse.net from Safari

Whenever I open Safari ver. 11.1 the page opens to "search.searchpulse.net" rather than my designate home page. I understand this is due to a virus that has infected Safari. How can this virus be removed safely? I am using OS High Sierra ver. 10.13.4. Thanks. Bob
