The part I really get stuck is the selecting the printer type. these are the following steps I have taken; started with system preferences, then printers and scanners then I chose the canon ip3500 but then I get stuck on the part it ask what type of printer i don’t know if it’s( epson, zebra, hp digital) I just don’t know what to chose from

Hi,

Instead of using the driver on the CD, go to the Canon website and look for the driver for a Canon ip3500 model to download.

It must be compatible with the current macOS installed on your Mac.

If you're not sure what that is, click your Apple menu  top left in your screen.

From the drop down menu click: About This Mac

The macOS (version) is noted there.

The driver on the disc is probably outdated.
