No ability to add contacts in WhatsApp

I have a new iPhone 8 and downloaded WhatsApp. Privacy settings allow phone contacts to be shared to WhatsApp. But when I try I get the error “Please open WhatsApp from the home screen before continuing”. In WhatsApp the contacts list is empty and there is no icon to add new contacts.

IOS contacts not showing Whatsapp message buddle This is for the message bubble. This is for the call bubble IOS contacts not showing Whatsapp message buddle. If I open the contacts I no more see the whatsapp message bubble for any of the contacts. Refer image. However, I do see the Whatsapp call bubble. It used to work. But after a recent IOS update, it is not working. I can directly open the WhatsApp app and chat with the contact. I reach out to IOS support and Whatsapp support. Both denier support stating Out of Support scope. I already restarted the device Reset networks. Uninstall reinstall whatsapp. Thanks. [Image Edited by Moderator to Remove Personal Information]

Purchased new iphone. whatsapp cannot access my contacts. unable to share contacts with whatsapp.

Hi,

WhatsApp is not written by Apple so you need to contact the WhatsApp developer.

For problems with third party apps > Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support

Did you go to Settings > Whatsapp and turn on Contacts (which will let Whatsapp to access your contacts)?

Then in Whatapp App, select Settings > Status > Tap My Status > Tap Privacy > Select which contacts you want to include.
