iPhone 6s or iCloud account hacked

Let me begin by saying that I’m not sure which of the two is hacked or compromised or for that matter cloned. I believe my roommate has hacked one of not both of them. The behavior is that he seemingly has access to my Notes, can tell where I’m geographically located, and may possibly be able to read my messages as I type them in either WhatsApp and other apps.

My iPhone is not jail broken and has a password setup. I have icloud setup on my it and my MacBook. My phone occasionally seems to crash. I try not to use it with WiFi especially at home since I assume the connection isn’t safe. Can anyone advise me on the steps that I should take?

I’m willing to do anything up to change my mobile number, reset to factory standards the iPhone, changing passwords for iphone and icloud account. However, I’m not sure which would help(if I am correct with the account or phone being compromised, hacked, or cloned).

Check System Preferences/Sharing to make sure all items are turned off. Change your Apple ID password and the iPhone passcode using the links posted above. As an extra precaution, you might want to change your user password on the computer.

User Password Reset (2)

Set your computer to sleep when you are not using it. Then go to System Preferences/Security & Privacy and enable Require password after immediately sleep or screen saver begins.

Shut down your phone when it isn't in your possession.

able to read my messages as I type them in either WhatsApp and other apps.

This is not technically possible.

At best, armed with your WhatsApp, Apple ID etc. credentials, they could see your entries after you have posted them.

Changing all of your passwords asap is your next move.

How do you know this? Has this roommate ever had control of your device for any period of time out of your sight?

I reset my iPhone, changed my iPhone and iCloud passwords. I did the same for my MacBook as well as will put a firmware password on it. The only thing that is slightly concerning is that I had to use the common wifi network to download the MacBook operating system for although I disconnected from it before going through the installation prompts. Should I be concerned about it?
