Why do they charge for ringtones when you are already paying a subscription to iTunes every month

I pay for a iTunes subscription every month but when I try to get ringtones from iTunes they want to charge me a separate price ? I have an iPhone 8s and I’ve been a member for over year

If you are paying for an Apple Music subscription, you are paying to be able to access the music available through Apple Music. If you go to the iTunes Store and buy something like a ringtone, you will have to pay for it. You'd also have to pay for any music or videos you buy through the iTunes Store.

There is no subscription program for ringtones.
