CA is the CA of North America, except colder and in North America.

It seems the Canadian version of the FCC here in the US has decided that the alerts are more important than an option to turn them off, so they will not allow that. "People cannot opt out of this," said CRTC spokesperson Patricia Valladao. "There is a high importance that people — want it or not — receive these alerts." However, it says they will be muted with the Mute switch. However, I know that is not an option in the US, and I responded to a thread earlier today about Mute not working. While I don't know that the OP in that one was from Canada, it just seems to be a coincidence that multiple similar questions would be asked.
