Turn Off or Get Rid of Grab app

Several people have asked about not opening photos, etc., with Grab. The answers have all been change "Open With." However, that change does not continue -- Grab will come up again, intermittently, and in opening a image file, changes all the other photos with that extension.

How can I disable, remove, permanently block, erase -- just get rid of Grab?

It sounds like a problem with the LaunchSevices database. This controls "Open With". Try rebuilding the database, then set Open With again.

Launch Terminal. Triple click anywhere on the following line to copy entire line then at the prompt copy & paste this command: Then press return. Wait for the cursor to return to the command line.

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain u -domain s -domain l -v
