Why can I not force quit Photos whilst it creates a library? I don’t use it as I prefer Picasa to catalogue and edit my photos. I opened Photos by mistake and it automatically started duplicating my thousands of photos. HELP! How can I stop it?

How are you force quitting? Try force quit from the Apple menu first - if that does not work press command, option and delete -- if neither of those work power down and reboot

If you are not using Photos you can simply trash the Photos library and empty the trash to remove everything in Photos

That worked, thanks. I had the same problem once before and it didn't work that time, so my photos got duplicated which was a major pain as I now have to manually delete them. Relieved it worked this time.
How do I trash the Photos Library? Will the app remain on my PC? I do occasionally use Photos to make photo books. I select the photos I want to use in Picasa then transfer just those images to Photos to make the album. If I trash the Photos Library, will I lose those books too?
