I have a Dell U2415 external monitor connected via USC-C to Displayport cable. I have a late 2017 MacBook pro. I'm unable to get the audio to work from my MacBook pro speakers. I've enabled the audio for internal speakers via system preferences.

Never mind. In system preferences under the audio icon, I enabled internal speakers. Strange, because when I tried that just before I posted this question, it didn't work. Must have been a slight quirk in High Sierra.
