See View and remove your associated devices in iTunes - Apple Support. You should be able to associate up to 10 devices with your account. I don't recall seeing a separate limitation for Apple Music. , although I think you may be limited to one device streaming at a time. Do have a reference for the 6 devices limit? I've definitely got five, three computers, an iPhone, an iPad, and I'm guessing neither HomePod or Apple TV count, otherwise it would be seven.

Got it, two streaming with a standard account, up to six with a family account. The concurrent stream limit shouldn't necessarily prevent you using Apple Music on a new device.

There is no 6 limit device for Apple Music.

There is a 6 Apple ID limit for Family Sharing however. Up to 6 Apple IDs can be used in Family sharing.

Each Apple ID can have up to 10 devices associated with it. So a maximum of 60 devices can be used in Family Sharing.

If you are using an Apple Music Family subscription then you would have a maximum of 6 devices each one with it’s own Apple ID playing Apple Music tracks at the same time.

If you have 8 devices using the same Apple ID, they can all access the Apple Music subscription, but they won’t all be able to play music at the same time.
