Large Final Cut File to DVD

I have a large Final Cut Pro X (10.4) file that I need to burn multiple copies to DVDs. (This is my first Final Cut Project) I don't want two files. How do compress/fit 66 minutes onto one DVD? I also have compressor. Would that help?

66 minutes of DVD content should easily fit on DVD5 (4.7 GB). Note that DVD is SD (standard definition) MPEG-2 video, so encoding for DVD will change the compression from your source format, meaning the size of your source doesn’t matter much.

Output a disk image file, to check its size and quality prior to burning.

I shared a master file first. When I setup to share to DVD now, I get a message the file already exists, and that the previous file will be overwritten. Does that mean that the master file (at full resolution - 56G) would be changed too? Does that matter?

My other question, when I set up to share to DVD, a little icon near the final button says 2 files. Does that mean it will need to disks? LIke you said the DVD file is only 3.9 G, so I don't know why it would need more than one.

I am just unfamiliar with this set up but I need to get it done. THis is a recording of "The Little Mermaid" that I directed at a High School, and I wanted to make DVDs for each cast member. I did each act separately.

Any help would be great.
