Mac Mail

Hi

Mac Mail has started to behave oddly? -

My smartfolders are showing "unread" messages BUT all the messages in inbox are 'read', If I filter the smart mailbox to 'unread' it is empty?

High Sierra 10.13.4 Mail Version 11.3 (3445.6.18)

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Cheers
Steve

Hi there, MVX!
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having an issue with your smart folders showing messages as “unread” and I am happy to assist! I suggest starting by following the steps in this article to Rebuild mailboxes in Mail on Mac.
If you still see the issue after rebuilding the mailboxes, take a look at this article with steps to follow to Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. This will perform checks and stop certain software from starting up automatically. Once you are in safe mode, check to see fi the issue is still happening. Also, check out this article with steps for How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac to create a new user and test the issue in the new account to see if the issue is user specific or system wide. Just be sure you try to add the email account to the test user.
Let me know the results and have a great day!
