A phone number is shared with me through a text message. When I tap on the new number I tap “ create new contact” but that number does not appear when I open my phone contacts. What am I doing wrong?
Once you see the result of "Create New Contact', does it look something like this, with the telephone number you tapped and no other information?
If so, you are being given the framework to enter Contact information, but if you did not finish the process, there is no new contact added.
It works for me. Long press the phone number within the SMS or iMessage and select Add to Contacts so a new contact appears with the number populated, then hit Create New Contactto edit and add details like name. If that doesn’t work for you check your iPhone software is up to date (iOS 11.3.1).
