Cannot sign into iCloud

Hi all,

It appears that I'm unable to sign into iCloud on my 2012 iMac on High Sierra 10.13.4.

Whenever I log in it requests that I sign into my iCloud account again, FaceTime says that it "could not activate" and my iMac doesn't appear in the list of devices I can forward SMS messages to.

Interestingly, it works fine on the App Store and photos and on my 2016 and 2012 MacBook Pros.

I've tried the following to no avail:

  1. Signing out and back into my Apple ID
  2. Another known working iCloud account
  3. Moving the iCloud directory from ~/Library/Application Support/
  4. Deleting the contents of my keychain.

Is there anything else I can try with this? Thanks.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

Message activation error

Have someone else attempt to sign in using their Apple ID. If they can successfully sign in and use Messages/FaceTime, it may be your Apple ID.Someone I know had this happen and I was able to sign in usingmy Apple ID. After a call to Apple Support and then being elevated to a tier 2 support person, it turned out it was a problem with their Apple ID. It took the software engineers 3-4 days to fix the problem. When calling Apple, make sure you tell them it is an Apple ID problem so you don't get charged.

You are welcome. If FaceTime works on your devices, it isn't an Apple ID problem.
