I’m trying to setup a new phone and when I try to restore from ICloud backup it’s giving a error message saying verification failed( there was as error connecting to the Apple ID server

Go to your Apple ID account page and try to sign in. If you can't sign in, follow the steps provided there to reset your Apple ID account password.
