Photo Sync failure, iphone 6+

My iPhone 6 plus will no longer sync my photos through iTunes. I do not use the cloud. I have tried syncing and resyncing to no avail. My albums folder will only maintain the camera roll, people, places, selfies, panoramas and recently deleted which are the folders automatically generated by Apple. In addition, the "Photos" views of collections and moments has almost 13K photos spanning ten years that I cannot delete. None of those photos are in my "A

lbums." The trash can is grayed out when I select and try to delete them.

When I try to sync/resync, I receive the warning that the photos on my phone will be replaced by the photos from my computer, but it does not happen. Any suggestions?
