Macbook Pro 15' is lagging with external monitor.

Specs:

processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7

memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB

I have two 20inch dell monitors and I have connected them with my macbook with vga to thunderbolt connectors it worked fine for the first week but now every time i connect the screens my entire system lags after 2 minutes and cant operate the system as im using logic pro x. Need help guys.
