Why is the App Store taking up 41% of the battery when I only used it for like 30 seconds to update my apps and it’s draining my battery?

There were several threads on Reddit after iOS 11.3.1 update regarding battery drain, and half of them was related to AppStore app. If there were no heavy updates, app downloads, etc., the issue can be in iOS. Can you confirm that you've tried reinstalling iOS and not just reset to factory settings?

Also, some users reported that updating to iOS 11.4 beta fixed the battery drain, but in my opinion it's better to wait for official release.
