No route option on Apple Watch

This was just a test walk from yesterday, but I also went on a rather long walk today using MapMyRun and neither one of those show my route on my the activity app... And please do not give me the generic answer that tells me to go into settings on my iPhone and turn everything on, everything is already on, as I already checked all of that. How do I get the Route option to show? I specifically got the series 3 because it had GPS built in and I wanted to be able to track my walks and see a map afterwards…Mainly because I will be going out of the country later this month and cannot bring my phone with me, so I really want to see the maps for then. Unfortunately there is no option one here that says route as you can see… So what gives? I’m getting extremely frustrated with this watch I’ve only had it two days. .. When I go into the MapMyRun application, the map is there and it is accurate, but I want to be able to see it in the Activity application instead because I’m deleting MapMyRun because it’s not functioning correctly.User uploaded file

Check that Wrist Detection is turned on and that, if passcode is enabled, you are unlocking your Apple Watch after placing it on your wrist.

Check that you are wearing your Apple Watch sufficiently snugly on the top of your wrist (if it is worn too loosely, your watch may believe that it has been removed):

On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that both Fitness Tracking and Health are enabled.

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that both Fitness Tracking and Heart Rate are enabled.

On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Privacy > Location Services:

  • Check that Location Services (the main setting at the top) is turned on.
  • In the list of apps beneath, check that Apple Watch Workout is set to While Using.
  • If each setting is already enabled:
    • Try briefly turning off Location Services and then turning it back on again.
    • Try briefly changing the setting for Apple Watch Workout to Never and then back to While Using.
  • Also enable options under System Services including Motion Calibration & Distance, Wi-Fi Networking and Mobile Network Search.

Restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch (normally):

End and review your workout
