TextEdit message keeps on popp up

Hello, I recently updated my Imac with High Sierra 10.13.4 and the below TextEdit message pops up when starting the computer. How do I handle this, should I take any action to remove what looks like an alert ?

Message on my iMac i was trying to login my message app on my iMac and got this and says updating but nothing happening for an hour stays in one spot I do not see the progress bar moving so i have forced closed it and still comes back with this message see screen shot. How can I bypass this so i can get my messger to work again? Like i said been liked this for an hour. And on dock keeps jumping up and down?Thank you all for our help into this matter.
