Bootcamp boots into a black screen

Good evening everyone,

I just installed a boot camp partition of windows 10 home. whenever I boot into my boot camp partition (using the Power + ALT method) it will boot fine but my screen will shut off as if it doesn't have a signal and the only way I can get it back is to unplug and replug the HDMI cable from my mac mini. After I do that the windows login screen comes up fine and its good from there on out. any idea how to fix this? I do not get this issue when booting into macOS, only when booting into Bootcamp.

Mac mini ( Late 2014)

Intel Core i7 & Intel Iris Graphics

macOS High Sierra 10.13.4
