This leads me to believe the Proximity Sensor is staying active all the time. Reboot your phone (let me know which model phone you have if you don't know how to reboot) and see if that solves this.
I'm not understand your question. If you have the camera open and you cover the lens, it can't see anything, so your screen SHOULD go black. Why wouldn't you expect this, or am I not understanding your question?
It when I don’t have my camera open, I could be in any app other than the camera and if I cover the camera the screen will go black until i uncover it
Which camera are you covering? The front camera with proximity sensor, or the rear camera?
