hello

I deleted by mistake my news widget on my iPad running ios 10.3.3 but even if I followed the instructions of changing my country from Italy to United States I no longer get the original Apple News widget. Can anyone help, please?

Good morning giorita!

Thanks for following up with us with this additional information. It's very helpful!

The News app is available in Australia, UK, and US: iOS - Feature Availability - Apple

You mentioned it was once on your device, then you changed countries and even after changing back to US, it's still not appearing. Are these the steps you used to change back to the US?

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. On your device, tap Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.
  2. Tap your Apple ID.
  3. Tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.
    User uploaded file
  4. Tap Country/Region.
  5. Tap your new country or region, then tap Next.
  6. Review the Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy, then tap Agree if you agree.
  7. In the prompt that appears, tap Agree.
  8. Select a payment method and enter your new payment information. You have to enter a valid payment method for your new country or region.1 Learn more about how to change or remove your Apple ID payment information.
  9. Enter your billing address and tap Next.

Your Apple ID country or region updates for all of your Apple services on all of your Apple products.

If these are the steps you took and it shows as US, then try searching for the News app in the App Store using the terms "News". If you're still not able of find it, try this instead: Search for "Apple" to see all available Apple apps. Do you see the News app listed here?
Let us know! Cheers.

Good morning giorita!

It sounds like you've deleted the News widget and would like it back. I can help with this.

You can customize which widgets to add to your Today View. Are these the steps you're taking that you're not seeing the News widget? Use widgets on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If these are the steps you're using to add the News widget, and it's not appearing, let us know if you're able to locate and open the News app.

Take care!

No I didn't follow the described procedure. I changed the country in Setting, General, Country.

if I follow your procedure I would have all my payments probably blocked. I still live in Italy and the News feature was there on my iPa when I bought it In Italy. . Then I "did something" like deleting apps to make more space on my device and the news feature disappeared.
