Keyboard and Trackpad not working once I've logged in

My keyboard and trackpad on my MacBook air 13" seem to work fine at the login screen but as soon as I log in it starts looking for a wireless mouse and keyboard and doesn't recognise the actual keyboard or trackpad. I've done the PRAM & SMC resets and nothing helps.

Is there a fix for this or does this mean a whole new trackpad and keypad for my MacBook air? At this point I,'m wondering if it'll be cheaper to just buy a new one.

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hey emmy5blue,

I hear your internal keyboard and trackpad aren't working after logging in on your MacBook Air. Let's try some steps together.

Resetting the PRAM and SMC are two great steps to test first. We'll want to continue with booting into Safe Mode to further isolate the issue:

Take care!
