The trackpad on Macbook air is difficult to depress

I have used compressed air to clean out the space . The trackpad is just resistant

How old is your computer?

A fairly common issue with notebook batteries is for them to swell as they age. This swelling can cause it to press up on the trackpad, which then won't work properly.

I would take it in to an Apple store and have them take a look.
