My iPad air 2's battery swelled up right after I removed it from power.

It's 18 months old and I live in India. What are my options? How much would apple charge for a new battery?

I've always been careful enough to be sure the battery was not overcharged. The device has never been dropped and has never suffered an injury.

Can Apple, by any chance, provide a free replacement?
