Can't Sign Into iTunes Account (Error Code: 0x80090302 )

Hi guys!

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who has ever gotten this weird message when trying to sign into iTunes with their Apple ID:

iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error occurred 0x80090302.

This has never happened to me and the only thing that I've done differently on iTunes is back up my iPhone to this laptop. I am having a hard time finding this exact same error code anywhere on the

I think that Apple quietly discontinued iTunes store access to older versions of iTunes. I have two PC's with Windows 10 that were updated last weekend with the latest Windows update. I didn't have any issues accessing the iTunes store with iTunes 12.6.3.6 until yesterday. I updated one computer to the latest version of iTunes 12.7.5.9. The iTunes store access is back to normal. The big down side is the loss of managing Apps and Books (PDF's in my case) via iTunes.

I also have this problem starting from yesterday. iTunes 12.6.2.20 on Windows 7 x64 can't connect to iTunes Store with error 0x80090302 :-(

Same problem. I think that (maybe) the culprit is the last Windows 10 updates on my PC. I have received them today.

Apple thoughtfully dropped support for Windows Vista on May 25th with no prior warning via email. I've lost my account balance thanks to this, and now I buy my music elsewhere, thanks Apple.

Microsoft offered a free upgrade. I guess you missed it. And the discussion is about iTunes and not Windows, so thanks for playing.

Thanks for the info. I am curious, why Apple did not automatically updated my old 12.1.3 to the new one, even told me, that "its the most resent version", when i tried to update it...

I can now login to the store in iTunes 11.2.2.3. Apple must have turned this back on, at least temporarily.

The fix lies in completely removing iTunes (along with all registry files) from your Windows PC and then re-installing iTunes.
