iOS 11.4 - Wi-Fi and Bluetooth no longer function

Just updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 11.4 and now my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are perpetually off. When I go into the settings it will no show both as off and the slider cannot be moved to the on position. When I swipe up for the control I can turn on bluetooth (which does not stay on) and Wi-Fi shows as off and cannot be turned on.

I've searched for fixes (including resetting network settings, restarting the device) and still the above issue persists. Is there a possible fix or is time to retire this iPhone 6?

You are NOT the only one. 11.4 and 11.3 are a nightmare. Unbelievable that these problems occur unless they are intended to. So many people I know that have Iphone users for life are changing to android. As in

Many. Wish support were more helpful in fixing .

Go to settings and open your wifi. Select your wifi by touching the wifi name. Click on Forget This Network. Touch Forget this Network (in red to confirm). Then open up WIFI to rediscover your network and re-enter your password for your network.

This fixed my WIFI issues on iphone 6 plus and iphone 8 running ios 11.4 so far.😉

Hi,

same problem here.....

Recurent problem with bluetooth when a new update comes out.

FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

My Iphone and Ipad are impacted. Not really willing to go for a full reset...

How can this be that Apple systematicaly fails with bluetooth?

Already when upgrading to iOS 10, I've lost the volume control of my BT speaker...

****, this is really a shame.

Did a full wipe and reset thru iTunes. Didn’t fix it. Turned off Bluetooth and Cellular but left Wi-Fi on. That seemed to do the trick. Restored from my backup in iCloud and for the past 3 days, no issues. But I haven’t turned cellular or Bluetooth back on. So this seems to point to an issue with the radio code at least on the iPhone 6. I assume the Wi-Fi radio is a different part an/or uses different code. Wish Apple would do a better job of testing and be more responsive to fixing. I’m not a fan of Android but I’m giving Android phones a look. I can’t afford to have my phone go inoperative every time a new iOS is released.

Apple 11.4.1 release issues with Wifi Bluetooth etc.

Phone: IPHONE X

Ever since this 11.4.1 update has come, none of the bluetooth devices work the same. Car bluetooth acts funny sometimes don't connect, bluetooth audio to other devices dont work. With some devices it can't connect anymore. Wifi tethering don't work any more. All these issues were not there and have started to do this because of this release.

I hope they come up with this fix soon. Please don't bother resetting your phone and all that because nothing works. Setting up as a new phone will also not work as this is a software issue and Apple needs to take responsibility and fix this bug.

I'm sorry that YOUR PHONE has this problem. But, believe it or not, the fact that your phone has a problem does not mean that the other 500 million phones on 11.4.1 do. "They" will not come out with a fix, because "they" have no idea what is wrong with your phone. If you make a genius bar appointment, however, they can look at your phone and perhaps fix your phone.

What have you done to try to troubleshoot it? You don't have to, as Apple will if you take it to them, but you might be able to save a trip by doing some basic troubleshooting.

I don't think it's the phone it's the software. I'll tell you why.

I have another IphoneX which had 11.4 and it was working just fine with no issues.

After I had the issues, I did everything which they suggest but it didnt work. (reset the phone, erase all settings and all that but nothing worked).

Just to experiment, I used the other phonex with 11.4 and tested all functionality on that and it was working just fine with all bluetooth settings and everything. Once I upgraded the phone to 11.4.1 i started doing all the things which the other phone was doing (nothing worked). So it's quite obvious that it's the 11.4.1 software upgrade which caused this issue.

Well Laurence, the person you replied to seems to be the “only” victim among many many more...

My iPhone was forcibly ‘upgraded’ last to the latest version of IOS (which I had repeatedly avoided loading) when the system loaded the update without my agreement. Now, the Bluetooth which worked perfectly before the update just has the perpetual spinning wheel and won’t turn back on at all...

So, it appears that I too am the ‘only’ victim of these shenanigans. Apple should be required to repair these update inflicted issues for free as a service since they don’t give you an actual option to refuse these updates and these updates break things every time.
