11.4 update battery drain

After updating to 11.4 on iPhone 6s, the battery has gone down 50% overnight twice now. My friend has the same problem on her iPad. Is this happening to others?

I’m calling BS to the Apple response. The old replace the battery, it’s your apps, gps, indexing, etc. is not the problem.

It’s 11.4 software upgrade!

My phone goes nearly flat from 100 % overnight with everything closed, no mail pull, etc. just sitting. I’ve heard the standard answers given every time there’s a problem with an apple phone. I’ve had a few by the way.

What needs to happen is you need to say sorry Mr. Customer, we will rush a patch thru on this issue right away.

No cheers, just bad service from Apple.

I have an iPhone 6s. I did the 11.4 update and my phone will not stay charged for 7 hrs. overnight in standby. With the phone at 100% when I go to bed, I wake up to a completely dead device. I have turned off all of the standard things and the phone says my lock and home screen are the biggest users of battery. I had my carrier replace the battery under warranty (my device is only 1yr and 10 mos old).I have tried all of the support fixes. This update is the problem! Apple needs to issue a bug fix immediately or they will start losing customers.

I have an iPhone 6 and i had the the battery was replaced under the new replacement scheme 8 weeks ago and the phone has worked perfectly fine. I updated t 11.4 now i am getting 3 hrs use max before i need to charge and that's on a good day. Sometimes the phone will switch off at 50% battery , sometimes 25%, sometimes 6%. I'll plug in the charger and you actually can see the battery life rocket up to 100% in about 30mins. I have tried battery callibration and the restore option but NOTHING works. I have an appointment with the Apple store at the weekend where i'm sure i'll be told there is nothing they can do. Basically the 11.4 update has wrecked my phone and apple in it;s wisdom won;t let anyone roll back.. Fix it apple ASAP for goodness sake. What a shambles.

I have two iPhone: 6s and SE. iPhone 6s' battery is now working fine; it lasts beyond than 24 hours (compared to 8 hours two to three weeks ago).

But iPhone SE's battery does not last for more than 8 to 12 hours although I have switched off all 'non-essentials' applications that can impact the use of battery. Once in a while the battery lasts for say 12 to 16 hours. I hope this too will improve over time.

I have a iPhone 7 and a 7 plus. The 7 has a three month old battery exchanged at the apple store, the 7plus is less than a year old. After downloading 11.4 both phones only hold a charge for less than a day. The 7 plus use to last for 4 to 5 days. My wife’s 7 also had a battery swap and her battery drains as well after loading. All 3 phones?? What is the issues?

I have an iPhone 6s which worked fine before installing iOS 11.4. Now my battery drains quickly (over 70%) when locked for 6 hours and background app refresh, push mail and location are disabled. But it seems to drain slower if wifi is turned off. Genius Bar diagnostic and battery tests did not find any issues with the phone. A factory reset did not resolve the problem. It seems to be a software issue. Apple, please fix it.

No, nothing you apple people are saying has anything to do with the problem. I have a healthy battery. It’s your crappy update that ruined the battery life, only with the older models... no doubt to push people to buy the newest iPhones, preferably the IPhone X.

It’s one 100% related to the update. Phone was perfectly fine. The day I updated, my battery started dying literally twice as fast then the earlier half of the day!

Yes. My iPad Air has been shutting down with as much as 100% battery life, then telling me it needs charged. I plug it in and it still shows it has sufficient battery life (from 45%-100% at any time). I thought my service provider was trying to force me to upgrade when I found info on the last update being the cause. This is very annoying as I use this device for biz. I do hope Apple fixes this soon. I don’t want to have to go back to an Android device. My phone is fine. Same iOS. Strange, but I’m thankful.
