"There was an error connecting to Apple ID server" Mac only

I recently changed the password for my Apple ID. I can connect to iTunes/iCloud with my Apple ID on all my other devices iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and even Safari on my Mac, but I cannot connect to iCloud or iTunes on my Mac from System Preferences or any application (Messages, App Store, iBooks, iTunes, etc.).

After putting in my password, I get the error, "Verification Failed. There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server." This happens on my home, office, and parent's Internet. I have restarted the computer multiple times and even reset PRAM. My user account is an admin.

Any idea why this is happening and how to fix?
